Your New Patient Visit at Eagan Dental Concepts

At Eagan Dental Concepts, we consider your initial visit as the building block for our lasting relationship. During this crucial appointment, we will carefully go through your medical and dental history. You will have the opportunity to meet your doctor and our team members, allowing you to comfortably address any concerns about your dental health and treatment plan. To ensure ample time for your first visit, we prioritize a relaxed atmosphere where you won’t feel rushed.

Step 1: Your Appointment

Upon your arrival, our welcoming team will be ready to assist you with check-in, notify your oral health team of your arrival, and verify your insurance if applicable. To save time, we recommend completing any new patient forms sent in your appointment confirmation email before you arrive.

Afterward, a friendly team member will escort you from the waiting room to a private treatment room. During your visit, our dental team will review your dental and medical history and discuss any dental health concerns or issues you may have. Our dental assistant will take X-rays to examine the jaw’s structure, position, and tooth condition to further assess your oral health.

Step 2: Your Exam

Once you’re settled in a treatment room, a team member will review your dental and medical history and any concerns you may have. We use advanced dental technology, such as intraoral cameras, to provide a 3-D video tour of your teeth and jaw structure, allowing us to make more accurate diagnoses and provide personalized treatment plans.

During your comprehensive exam, we will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, and mouth and take x-rays to assess your overall oral health. Our goal is to help you achieve your dental goals while ensuring your comfort and satisfaction. After the exam, we will review our findings with you and discuss recommended treatments and procedures.

Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit

During your first visit, your dental health team will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth to determine the appropriate treatment plan for your specific oral health needs. Depending on your condition, a cleaning may or may not be performed during this initial visit.

Our skilled dental hygienist will perform an oral cancer screening and evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums. If cleaning is deemed appropriate, the hygienist will use traditional tools or advanced water-powered instruments to remove any buildup of plaque or tartar. Your hygienist will also provide personalized tips on how to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent gum disease. The entire hygiene exam typically takes around 45 minutes, and you will be provided with a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste to continue your home care routine.

New Patient Forms

To prepare for your upcoming appointment, Eagan Dental Concepts provides our patient forms online. Completing forms before your visit will also help ensure timely check-in for your appointment.  If you are unable to print and complete the forms, we ask that you arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early, so you may complete them in the office.

Learn More About New Patients at Eagan Dental Concepts

Yes! Eagan Dental Concepts accepts new patients and is often able to schedule appointments within a few weeks or even days. Your first visit will usually include an appointment with the doctor for a comprehensive exam and all necessary X-rays. During your new patient appointment, you can speak with our dentists about any specific trouble areas or concerns.

In the past, you may have been able to schedule your first appointment with a new dentist for just a dental cleaning. However, our dentists follow current standards in the dental field and all new patients receive a comprehensive oral examination and any necessary X-rays. This ensures that the dentist has a full and clear picture of your mouth and oral health before proceeding with care. If cleaning is the proper next course of treatment, appointments are often available on the same day.

In order to make payments convenient for our patients, we offer several options.

Our dental team will gladly help you with an estimate of benefits before your treatment and with filing your insurance claim. If we are out-of-network for your insurance, we will help guide you in filing a claim. Patients are responsible for the difference between the insurance benefit and the cost of the procedure. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.
